Terms of business

Payment is welcomed in any way that’s easiest for you. I accept cash, cheques and bank transfers, which I ask for to be paid at the end of each lesson. If you would prefer to pay for a block of lessons upfront, this is also possible. I try to keep everything as flexible and convenient for people as possible.

If you need to cancel a lesson for any reason, I ask for 24 hours’ notice. I will endeavour to rearrange the lesson for a more convenient time, however I am mostly working at maximum capacity and sometimes find it very difficult to allocate another slot within the week. I completely understand that illness and unforeseen circumstances will occasionally take hold and ample notice is not possible, however if a lesson is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, I reserve the right to charge the full rate. If I need to cancel a lesson for a particular reason, I will always try my best to give as much notice as possible and will offer as many alternative slots as I am able to. Naturally no charge will be made in these circumstances.

Should you wish to end tuition with me, 2 weeks’ notice is required. This allows me time to ensure that your child’s learning finishes in an appropriate place and that any loose ends are tied up.

Although my role is to help, encourage, support and teach your child, I can never guarantee a particular grade or pass in an exam. I pride myself on providing my pupils with all the necessary skills and understanding to achieve their very best, but it’s very much dependent on hard work and determination on their part too. I always provide feedback after lessons to ensure that everyone is aware of successes and areas for development.
